What is needed to create a multimedia presentation depends on the complexity and nature of the project. The list below consists of a sampling of very basic programs that are available in our schools.

What is Multimedia?
Multimedia is the integration of text, graphics, animation, sound, and/or video. There are multitudes of programs that create and assist in the creation of multimedia. For example, using photos (graphics) may require a graphics editing program such as Photoshop.

Examples of Basic Programs Related to Multimedia Creation
Graphics: Photoshop, Microsoft Picture Manager, iPhoto
Presentation Tools: PowerPoint, Hyperstudio, PhotoStory
Sound and Audio: GarageBand, Audacity
Video: iMovie, MoveMaker
